The Challis Residences contains 26 luxury apartments on the former Highgate Drycleaners site on Beaufort Street in Mount Lawley. This includes three sub-penthouses and a penthouse.

The apartments were named Challis in honour of the couple who owned the original site since the 1950's, until Baltinas purchased it in 2017. Anastasios and Olga Challis were the pioneers of the automated dry-cleaning process in Western Australia. The business relocated during construction but will ultimately return to Challis once construction is complete. A plaque will be installed within the building honouring the family and business’ historical significance to Mt Lawley.

With inspiration drawing from Mount Lawley's art deco buildings, including the Astor Theatre, Beaucott Buildings and the Alexander Buildings, the architects at Baltinas are paying tribute to the art deco movement that originated in the 1920s and developed into a major style in western Europe and the US during the ‘30s.

The apartment complex will also contain solar panels, rainwater harvesting technology, biophilic design (the practice of connecting people and nature within our built environments and communities) principles, as well as a unique tree-planting system, with trees growing through the upper levels of the building.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of this year (2021).
