The $9.5 million new helipad will be installed by late 2021. The new infrastructure is vital to handle the next generation of rescue helicopters that will be deployed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services in 2022.

The new helicopters will be able to travel further and faster, significantly improving the health outcomes of sick and injured patients throughout the rural and remote regions of Western Australia.

The new helipad will be situated in a new location, allowing for the current helipad to operate as normal during the construction process.
