Construction on US oil giant's Chevron's HQ at One the Esplanade began in January 2020.
The 29-storey building will create 57,000 sqm of office and retail space, bringing in an estimated 3,000 workers into Elizabeth Quay. The tower includes a two-level basement, 136 car parking bays, 637 bike racks, 816 lockers, 70 showers, an integrated three-level podium, gym, childcare, food and beverage outlets as well as conference facilities.
Chevron will lease out 42,000 sqm of the building's net lettable area. They originally paid $64 million for the site in 2013 before selling the land to owner-developer Brookfield in 2019. The Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC purchased a quarter stake in the tower from Brookfield for $220 million. Brookfield sold a 50% stake in the property to Invesco for $500 million in early 2020 and now retain 25% ownership.
It is expected to be completed in early 2023.
