The Wearne Redevelopment in Gibney Street is a residential aged care and retirement living development.

It comprises of 78 Independent Living Units and 129 Residential Aged Care rooms, providing accommodation and personal or nursing care for aged residents, including recreational, health, laundry and catering facilities.

The $80 million project is an expansion of the beachside aged care provider's Wearne Hostel in Cottesloe.

The project will provide care facilities for about 110 people and 90 serviced apartments after it was approved in 2019.

The first stage is expected to have people move in late 2021. Following stages will have 55 residences for the elderly, and a café, art precinct, medical centre and meeting rooms for the Cottesloe community on Gibney Street.
